When it comes to gaming peripherals and accessories, nothing quite encompasses comfort and ergonomics as well as a gaming chair. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been creating reviews about the devices and products that are made to directly improve your computer experience. A gaming chair, on the other hand, is meant to fulfill a much more fundamental purpose: helping to prevent hurting your back and shoulders when using your computer, especially for those users that sit behind a desk for several hours at a time. This is true for most ergonomic chairs; a gaming chair, however, takes this fact to the next level and incorporates several features which are meant to also improve the user’s gaming experience and possibly give them an edge over the competition.
When it comes to gaming chairs, X Rocker is a company that is focused on creating the very best butt rests in the business. They don’t only manufacture their products out of the highest quality materials, but they also incorporate proprietary and patented technology into the design of each one of their gaming chairs, all of which are meant to improve the user’s experience on the computer. Case in point, one of the most important features of these chairs is the exclusive AFM technology, which stands for Audio Force Modulation, and consists of a set of speakers, along with a subwoofer, installed into the chair and which use the empty space within said chair to magnify sound quality. As a result, X Rocker’s chairs offer the most immersive sound experience; the highs sound clear and crisp, and the lows are booming, deep, and are usually accompanied by intense vibration to further improve the user’s immersion.
Today we’ll be focusing on the X Rocker 51259 Pro H3, which not only includes the features mentioned above, but also takes them to the next level by offering the most amount of speakers out of all the products from this company, while also boasting the comfort and ergonomics that is already standard for this company. But before we hop into the product review itself, let’s first go over the criteria we use to judge and assess the chairs that fall into our hands.
When it comes down to reviewing gaming chairs, the process is fairly straightforward. The main purpose of one of these products is to provide comfort to the user as they type away on their computers or as they lounge in front of the TV watching their favorite shows. As we mentioned above, X Rockers is a company that takes their ergonomic chairs to the next level by adding the “gaming” label to them, along with a bunch of features that are meant to improve the user’s experience in-game. Because of this, we’ll be evaluating the X Rocker 51259 Pro H3 not only for its comfort, form factor, and general ergonomics but also for the quality of its extra features; namely, the sound system included within the chair, as well as the connectivity options of the product itself.
In terms of presentation and packaging, the 51259 Pro H3 by X Rocker aims to keep things simple. The chair comes folded in a standard cardboard box and the only assembly that it requires are a few screws for the armrests. This is true for the rocker version; the pedestal version of this chair (The X Rocker 5127401) will also require assembly of the pedestal itself. After the assembly is finished, you might notice that this chair comes with a control panel of sorts just beneath where the user’s right leg rests; this panel is used to connect the X Rocker to any audio device so that it may play through the chair’s built-in speakers, which we’ll get to in a second. Furthermore, the panel also features controls to regulate the volume of the speakers, toggle on or off the wireless receiver, and adjust the vibration settings as well.
After the product is put together, we can really tell that we’re in for a world of comfort, and the design of the chair itself is made so that it looks good in any place; from a gaming room, a “man cave,” or behind a low desk in your office. Furthermore, the X Rocker 51259 Pro H3 is comfortable enough to excel in any of these environments as well. The only problem we could find in terms of comfort is that this chair doesn’t perform too well if you’re a really tall person (6’2” or taller), given that the headrest might feel a bit too low for your neck. Also, those that enjoy sitting cross-legged on their chair might want to reconsider when using the X Rocker 51259 Pro H3, because the rocker can tip backward if too much weight is put on the backrest. Other than that, this chair is the epitome of comfort; it can provide a painless experience even through the longest gaming or work sessions.
The main material used on this chair is a vinyl fabric that feels somewhat like felt. The surface is slick and smooth and wipes easily if stained. The headrest is made out of the same material but is padded to give extra support to the user’s head. The armrests are designed like gun stocks and remain firm in place after assembly. They are neither too high or low, just perfect. However, as we mentioned above, taller users might have a bit of a hard time getting used to them, since the armrests might be a bit too low for them. The rocker is meant to be used directly on the floor and, as its name suggests, can be used to rock back and forth as you work or game. On the other hand, other types of chairs which use pedestals or have feet are better suited for use behind a desk.
Now the main feature of this product -and of many other X Rocker chairs, as well- is the patented sound technology incorporated into its frame. As we mentioned above, the X Rocker is equipped with a premium sound system that uses the empty space within the chair itself to amplify the sound quality. The H3 Pro has a 4.1 sound system installed: that is, 4 speakers and a subwoofer built into the frame. Said speakers are complemented with the exclusive Audio Force Modulation (AFM) technology, which is used to create vibrational audio within the chair that, when paired with the X Rocker’s built-in vibration, can really help to create a completely immersive gaming environment for the gamer. The vibration of the chair itself is synced to the media’s bass tones so you can actually feel the explosions coming from the game, like you’re actually living the action of the movie. For this reason, the 51259 Pro H3 is ideal for gaming and watching movies, though it can also be used when listening to music or with any other device that generates audio, and can be connected either via RCA cable or with a 3.5mm aux cable. The wireless receiver also makes it really easy for this chair to be paired wirelessly with compatible devices, for those moments when you want to stream audio without relying on unsightly cables running all over your floor.
The X Rocker 52159 Pro H3 is definitely one of the company’s best models. With a sound system that includes more speakers than other chairs and a form factor that ensures hours of comfort, this product is definitely suited for even the most hardcore gamers. The sound created by this chair can transport the user directly into their favorite games and movies and make them feel like they’re actually living the action. The fact that you can wirelessly pair the X Rocker Pro H3 to any compatible device via its wireless receiver is just the icing on the cake. As far as gaming chairs go, you really can’t get any better than this.
